Today’s game will be the first meeting between the Purdue Boilermakers and the Florida Atlantic Owls. So, not much history. However, I can present you with some mildly interesting facts, courtesy of Winsipedia, that will probably have no impact on the game.

This will be Florida Atlantic’s fifth game of the season. In the last three years, Florida Atlantic is 3-0 in their week five games with an average win margin of about 24 points. However, all three of those games were against conference opponents.

In the last 10 years, Florida Atlantic is 0-3 against Big Ten opponents.

• 2014: The Owls lost to Nebraska 7 to 55.
• 2017: The Owls lost to Wisconsin 14 to 31.
• 2019: The Owls lost to Ohio State 21 to 45.

In the last three years, Purdue is 1-2 in homecoming games. Their losses were against Minnesota (2021) and Northwestern (a virtual homecoming in 2020) and their win was against Maryland (2019).

In the same time span, in the fourth game of each season, Purdue is 1-2.

Purdue’s current record is 1-2. I think I have something for this. Just give me a week. Or two.
